March heartfelt Activities

Look how fun heartfelt activities are for everyone!

Soaking in every last instruction

Lisa, the teacher extraordinaire!

the finished product:  pompom kitties

We went to heartfelt for the free pompom event in February.  Except it wasn’t just me and my children.  I had invited my friend Andrea and her two kids, my friend Angel and her three girls, and my friend Dacia and her four children.  So between the 4 of us we had 13 children.  Therefore, we had completely overrun the store.  But Lisa was so laidback and relaxed about it all.  It didn’t phase her in the least.  When Dacia’s girls wanted to make Dolphins, she didn’t even think twice.  “of course you can make dolphins!  Let’s first start with the pompoms.  What color would be the best?  Then, I can give you some felt to cut out the fins.”  When my girls asked for specific colors for the ears, she was more than happy to oblige.

Lisa’s instructions were easy to follow for Moms and for most of the kids.   After a couple of  disappointing starts, my girls and I (and even Dash) were able to make adorable pompoms.

At one point, Lisa had asked us to clip the yarn in a circle.  Dacia started doing this long before I did and leaned over and said, “This is the point when I start to panic.”  And I giggled thinking she was being a bit over dramatic.

Until I started to do it myself.  And I literally started to hyperventilate!  What if it didn’t work.  I didn’t want to start over!

Let me assure you that nothing happened except that the pompoms turned out perfectly!

Going to heartfelt is a lovely experience.  It’s fun and being with Lisa puts you at ease.

Here are your opportunities for March.

We are so excited to have City of Lakes Waldorf art teacher Kevin Kane offering two evenings of
watercolor instruction for adults. Wet on wet watercolor can seem like a mysterious thing–many Waldorf parents only see their children‟s luminous paintings and don‟t get a chance to try it themselves.  And Kevin is a truly gifted teacher, with his quirky sense of humor and honest love of the children; he is also an amazing artist himself.  We have two evenings scheduled, to allow as many interested adults as possible to attend. Space is limited so please sign up early to avoid disappointment. All class fees will be donated to City of
Lakes Waldorf School.
Adults Only.
$32.
Friday, March 16th 6:45 to 8:00 pm.
