Video Review: True Beauty Be Still–Lisa Chan

I have a busy life.  I have 4 young children, a husband who works looooooong retail hours, commitments to my church and friends, weekly prayer meeting, swimming lessons, an internet presence I’m trying to establish, volunteering at school; not to mention a random sick kid or a project to finish or any of the non scheduled mom activities.  I’m supposed to fit some time in there for me?

In the midst of the craziness, I need to stop.

Just Stop.
And
Be still.

I know that my blog is all about engaging my family and taking advantage of what is around us in the Twin Cities.

These opportunities are awesome, and I hope you take advantage of some of them. All the activities and discoveries and explorations mean nothing if we don’t know our Savior and connect with him.

So much good can happen by being still.
Taking time to be.
With the Lord.

Do you need the Word?  Do you need Jesus?  Do you need Him?  Because if we don’t need Him, nothing  we do in the Twin Cities matters.  Nothing we do in life matters.

This video by Lisa Chan (the wife of Francis Chan, author of Crazy Love, co-founder of Cornerstone Community Church, mother of five, musician) is amazing.  Without knowing it, my heart was touched and I was convinced that I don’t live my life needing Jesus.  I don’t just be before the Lord.  And therefore, it is empty.

How can it be possible to connect with him and find true meaning and be truly beautiful if I’m not connecting with him?  Being with him.

I think every woman who wants to follow Jesus with their whole heart needs to watch this video.
