What to do in the Mountains of New York

Honestly, I don’t know if we were in what you would consider the Appalachian mountains, but I can tell you this.  We were on a mountain called Bare Mountain and it was gorgeous.  So even if we weren’t in the Appalachian mountains per se, my advice to you will still be the same.

  • Rent a cabin in the woods.  You really won’t be able to see the spectacular views because you are surrounded by trees, but no matter what it is gorgeous!  I felt a little bit like a boot-legger (minus the whole alcohol thing).

    • Climb a mountain.  Even if you are two or 62 years old.  Go up, go down.  Just do it.

    • Take a hike.
    1. Feed a goat.
    2. Wade through a cold river
    3. Jump into a Waterfall.
    4. Build fairy houses.
    5. Sing or make music somehow–even a kazoo will do.
    6. Take lots of pictures
    7. Eat Salt Potatoes.  They originated in Syracuse NY.
    8. Advertisements
