St. Paul Corner Drug

I’m going to take a quick post in the midst of my traveling posts to tell you about St. Paul Corner Drug.
After a busy morning of cleaning the basement (cleaning uniform as seen here), the kids and I packed up and headed to St. Paul Corner Drug for their soda fountain.

St. Paul Corner Drug is located on the corner of Snelling Avenue and St. Clair Avenue in St. Paul.
The only place to sit is at the actual fountain and they clean up after you.  There is no where to take your napkins and such.

St. Paul Corner Drug is a drug store that still has the old fashioned soda fountain with 4 different flavors of ice cream to choose  for a cone, a float, a sundae, or an ice cream soda .  You can also get a soda there–like a real cherry coke.  It’s simple and inexpensive and a fun experience.

We enjoyed their Cake and Ice Cream flavor, Cotton Candy flavor, and their Rocky Road flavor.

While it was cheap and inexpensive ($1.50/cone),  the ice cream was just ordinary Kemps.  Nothing gourmet about it.  If you go to St. Paul Corner Drug for the soda fountain, enjoy it for the genuine soda fountain, not the gourmet ice cream.

It was really fun to sit at the fountain, to chat with the soda jerk, and to have someone clean up after us.  The kids were a hit with their doo-rags, and for once, I didn’t feel the need to order any ice cream for myself.

It was purely a successful trip!
