There is traveling light and then there is traveling light. As in unintentionally making due with your orange tank top and lightweight pants that you took your flight to Italy in since they lost your luggage and didn’t get it to you for 3 days.
I can honestly say that I don’t want to wear the same orange tank top every day for our 2 week trip. But I also don’t want to look like this!
However, knowing that we will have 4 children with us, we need to prepare for snacks and drinks and toys and movies and music. I know we will need a camera and sleeping gear and pillows. We will need Princess Pea’s medicine–all of it–in case she has an asthmatic episode. We will need lots of wipes and diapers. We will need some pain relief medicine and maybe a first aid kit.
And I haven’t even started on the toiletries OR the clothes.
However, I do believe that is where we can whittle down.
Toiletries include: toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo/conditioner, deodarant, comb, plenty of hair binders, contact solution/case, sunscreen, razor, shaving cream, eye liner and mascara (this is the list for everyone–not everyone will need each item, but these are the items that we need to have).
Clothes include (for everyone): 1 jacket, 1 sweatshirt–lightwegiht, 1 pair of pants, 2 pairs of shorts/skirts, 3 t-shirts, 1 nicer shirt, underwear-5 pairs (plan to do laundry), socks–same as underwear, swimsuit, pajamas, tennis shoes, sandals. Maybe for JackJack we will have a few more pants/shorts due to explosive diaper possibilities.
But do you think we could maybe get by with one suitcase?
Because I’m completely counting on it. The rest of the van will be packed with supplies and we will use every single inch of space we have.
Am I missing something?
