Black Friday was Yesterday

Yesterday, my husband had to work overnight at his store due to Black Friday.
He told me that when the store opened at 9:00 pm, there was a crazy rush into the store until about 1:00 am.

Then, it died.

Completely.

By 4:00 am, they were sending employees home since there was nothing for them to do except straighten.   And they had just spent 3 hours straightening.  The store probably never has looked that clean.

Due to his overnight shift, Chris had to sleep all day on Friday, so the kids and I camped out at our friends’ house.  We had a great day.  And Chris got an entirely quiet house in which to rest!  It was perfect.

At 11:30, Dacia (my friend) and I decided to brave the crowds since I needed to get a birthday present for  Princess Pea.  After dropping her car at the mechanic (oh, and that’s a whole different story), we drove to JC Penney.  Was it busy?  Yes.  Was it difficult to find a parking spot?  Maybe a little, but it could have been a lot worse. Was it completely insane?

Nope!

And so there you have it.

Black Friday Hints for Normal People

  • Go shopping on Black Friday after the selfish insane crazy nuts are gone.
  • Don’t pick the things that are on the front of the flyers.  Pick the lesser sought after things and hope to get them.
  • Be excited for the things you get for a great deal and let the rest of it go! (like the things they were sold out of)

  1. Great tips! I didn't get out at all, but have done something like that before and going out after the morning rush is over is pretty decent~!

  2. There isn't enough money, coffee or chocolate in the world to get me to the stores on black friday. Nope, no way.
