Taking the Moments In

I flicked a japanese beetle.
To get it off my bed.
After 3 seconds I heard its little shell smack the wall on the other side of the room.
Schweet!
And it’s probably not dead.
And on that note,
Praise God that Dash didn’t get killed yesterday.
Honestly!
He was sitting on the curb on our road.

We live on a VERY. BUSY. ROAD!!!!!!!!!!
He was just sitting there waving at the cars passing by.

Cute.
And dangerous!

In our house, it is against the rules to be a daredevil.
I want an alive little man who can play in the backyard without going to the front yard to sit on the curb to wave at passing cars.
Thank you, man who honked and stopped traffic so that nothing happened to my little guy.
This isn’t even funny.
I still feel sick to my stomach when I picture it all over in my brain.

So today, I am taking the moments in.
That Wordgirl wore all purple right down to her underwear (can I say that?  Do you think she will be scarred for life from telling the world that? If so, please tell me and I will delete it!) because today was purple day at school.
That Princess Pea and Dash both were able to use a screwdriver effectively.  I was so impressed.
That I can hold JackJack in one hand and nuzzle my face into his back.
That the 3 older superstars were all playing perfectly together in the treehouse in the backyard.
That Princess Pea put her jacket on and said, “Now I’m cuddly warm!”
That Dash has a cold and insisted on eating the cheese out of my salad with my fork, no less.  Oh, and the stuff he chewed and didn’t like?  That went back into my salad of course!
That Dash was wading through the leaves kicking them up in front of him.
That I was awoken at 5:30 am by Wordgirl saying, “Mommy?  My tummy hurts and I think I’m going to throw up.”  And when she did, in the middle of her puking, she said, “Tummy stop it.  Just stop it.”

Every moment.

And if you didn’t see my last post, please scroll down and watch the 25 second video.
It CRACKS me UP!

My heart stopped a bit reading about Dash… I think I still have tears in my eyes! Wow.

    Be blessed!

Ah, love those everyday moments. That's what I posted on today too.

Why is it some kids fear roads to an almost unhealthy amount, and others are just absolutely fearless? I have one in each category. My littlest one, I'm sure will be fearless too.

I think it's a good options to go here from the feelings you were in before. This is how I **try** to deal with my funky moods about all my lost freedoms. My mom annoyingly calls it, 'counting your blessing', and while I hate it when she tells me that it does work sometime, don't tell her I said that, but first I also need to sit in my mood and I would like to tell her about it with out her trying to fix me. I enjoyed these last few posts. : )

    I know, Amanda!
I didn't actually cry, but I sat holding him and shaking.

Yep Jess, it's these everday moments that make life. If you didn't have everday moments, you wouldn't be living.

    Mammabird–thanks for your encouragement.

  5. Kids are amazing without fear, aren't they? Glad to know everyone is ok – though I think mommy needs a good brainwashing after that!

    XOXO
