singing in the rain

saturday evening, chris was in the girls’ room with the girls. brin came out as i walked in! the next thing i knew, looking out the window, i saw brin traipsing around in the driveway.

we were having a DOWNPOUR! we got 3/4 of a inch of rain in about a 1/2 hour!
“brin!” i called out of the closed window, “what are you doing?”
to which chris replied, “i told her she could go out. i changed her so she could.”
which is true. she had been wearing a sweat suit (it was 80 degrees, but i could NOT convince that a sweatsuit was inappropriate and that she might faint from heat exhaustion!) now she was wearing shorts and a t-shirt.
then, i went into the dining room and i heard another pitter patter of feet and the squeaking of the screen door.
“maya!”
“what?”
“did you ask to go out?”
to which chris replied, “i said she could!”
okay.
this began a half hour of pure bliss for the girls!

if you are going to, you gotta watch the video twice. the first time watch maya, and the second time watch brin!

I LOVE this! I can totally see Chris saying that! 🙂 But I couldn't see the video! BUMMER!!!

    Maya needs tap dancing lessons!

One of the best things I did babysitting one summer was to let the older boy put on his swimsuit and go play in the rain. The gushing water in the gutter afterward was just as much fun, too, as they lived on a hill.
