simply adorable. that’s what you can say about my little ones.
maya: mom, do i have big hands? do i have big feet?
mommy: your hands and feet are perfect.
maya: no, mom, they are really big!
mommy: maya, your hands and feet are perfect for you.
maya: no, mom! my hands and feet are really big because i’m really big.
maya got a sliver in her finger at our friends’ house. andy helped me to get the sliver out of her finger completely. it took quite a bit of work. he had used a little knife and sliced her finger just a bit to make sure it was all out. he came into the bathroom with the knife covered up. while he cut her finger, i held her close and covered her eyes so that she didn’t see the knife. when it was all over, andy hid the knife so she still wouldn’t see it. that night, while i was putting her to bed, this was the conversation that followed.
maya: mommy, when andy used the tweezers, it didn’t hurt.
mommy: good, i’m glad.
maya: when you used the tweezers, it didn’t hurt.
mommy: you were really strong!
maya: when andy used the knife, THAT hurt and i cried!
when we drive past mcdonalds, brin points and says: e-i-e-i-o!
after supper, maya and brin helped themselves and went outside! when i finally made it out after them, the sight that i beheld was wonderful. brin was sitting on our swing and maya was pushing her.
maya: look, mom! i’m pushing brin!
brin: mommy is pushing…maya is pushing me! i like maya and mommy and daddy and dane. yeah.”
dane growls at everything ALL the time. i found him growling at a hello kitty sticker constantly. i have found him growling at the tupperware (which is what i would love to do, too!). he growls when you growl. he’ll look at you and growl!
i think he is trying to say our bird’s name–sundrop–only it sounds like “dadop”
