i am so blessed to have the most articulate, dramatic, sensitive little 3 year old–oh, i mean almost 4 year old– in the world. she is caring and thoughtful. she doesn’t have much moxie, BUT we are learning to shake it off. aren’t we, maya? yes, mama!
she loves to dance and she is SO good at it! look at her rhythm/movement! I certainly didn’t teach her that! maybe dad did!
i will post more about my sweetest oldest on her birthday, but tomorrow is her big day! we are hosting the MAYA SAVES THE CIRCUS birthday party. oh, it’s gonna be fun!
the guests: abby, gavan, corinn, sophie, meg, kiera, (cora was going to come but can’t), brin, grandma and grandpa french (as clowns), aunt lis, and of course, mom/dad/dane
the games: pin the nose on the clown, circus peanut hunt, let’s put on a circus–with dressing up, reading olivia saves the circus, making clown hats, (some time fillers if we need them–but i’ll let you know if we need them)
the grub: hot dogs, mandarin oranges, carrots (without ranch. i don’t like ranch, mom), string cheese, juice, water (i want water, mom, okay?), circus animal crackers, AND the grand pooba: our three-layer-made-from-scratch-multicolored-circus velvet cake with ice cream! i am a bit nervous about this. we made the layers last night. today we are filling it and frosting it. i will be decorating it tomorrow morning!
so today’s day looks like this: clean the house, hide everything that shouldn’t be seen, decorate the house, and bathe the kids. oh and after everyone is in bed, chris and i will put together the goodie bags! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!
i can do this! and really if i can’t: it’s a 4 year old’s birthday party. whatever happens, it’s going to be okay. right?
