don’t let the little girl see!

Brin, Maya, and I were a part of the Operation Christmas Child ministry. The girls each made a box and we took them to KTIS and enjoyed their open house. I have never had my picture or my kids’ pictures taken so much! Dane because he is bald, Maya because she had a OCC tattoo on her face and she was dancing on stage and Brin with the rest of us because I have a “beautiful family.” That’s what they said. It was so sweet. It was really fun. But the best part of it was watching my girls get into it. Maya didn’t want the little girl who was going to get her box look in it so it would be a surprise. I assured her that the little girl who got the box would be surprised and very happy.

We dropped the boxes off after making a quick stop at Walmart to finish filling them. Watching Brin walk across the parking lot with this heavy plastic shoebox in her arms was so cute.

Maya was so proud of what she got to put in her shoebox. I was listening to the radio and they said to put lots of color, a stuffed animal/doll, and a picture. So Maya was very happy to put her picture in her box.

On our way to KTIS!

Getting ideas of what to put in our boxes! Digging through our toys (you can’t put used toys in the boxes which I still have yet to figure out why if they are clean and not broken) to get some good ideas.

The Twinkie Kid didn’t stay, but Maya was willing to part with a whole bunch of stuff if that is what it took.

It is a great joy to give and not expect anything in return.
