As you know, we had a baby. So this summer has been a bit hectic and you can probably see that in this picture. This picture says it all, but let me fill you in on what is happening! Maya may be saying cheese, but she isn’t looking at the camera OR her brother whom she is holding. Brin is looking at the camera but unhappily begging to have Daddy hold her. Dane is in a very uncomfortable position and doesn’t look thrilled. This has been our summer in a nutshell!
Maya: She looks so much older than 3, doesn’t she?
We were going to go to the wading pool one day. However, the sky got darker and darker, and then little rain drops started drip dropping. As we were driving over to the pool, thunder and lightening were heard and seen. It goes without saying that we were unable to play in the wading pool. There were tears and more tears. Maya was so so SO disappointed. When we got home, Dane was sleeping, so we left him in his swing and the girls and I improvised and played in the rain! (the thunder and lightening had passed by this point!) We had so much fun! And Maya exclaimed, “We’re in a different wading pool with our clothes ON!”
Brin: the typical toddler! 19 months old is fun and hard work!
Yep, she is doing exactly what it looks like! She was actually trying to wash herself! I put water in Dane’s tub for his bath. Then, I went to his room to undress him. As I was getting him ready, I could hear Brin playing with the water in the tub! I was not expecting to see this! As Chris said, “What did you expect?”
Dane: 7 weeks! Isn’t he handsome?
I told Chris’s mom last night that I think we have turned a corner! He gave me 10 hours one night, 9 hours the next night, a night with only one wake up and promptly went back to sleep, AND another night of 9 hours after that! He has GOT to be 13 pounds or at least very close to that! I am starting to understand him (thanks to my mother in law who was able to discover a few little things he liked when she was up visiting us last week)!
