snapshots of the recent past

Today I am technically 2 days away from being 39 weeks pregnant!
This little guy with no name is very active. I laid down with Maya before she went to bed last night, and she got to feel him kicking around! She thought it was so cool. Every time he kicked, Maya felt it and started giggling! “That was him again!” How fun to share it with her! Chris has 3 more days of student teaching next week and then, we want him to take a day to celebrate that he is officially done with school/student teaching/etc. And we really want him to be able to go fishing that Thursday. Hopefully, the baby will wait for a little bit longer. I am slightly uncomfortable, but if I grab under my belly and hold it up, nothing is as full of relief as that small action! It’s fantastic!

Brin and Maya are starting to learn to play together. As long as Brin isn’t being brutal and pulling Maya’s hair and as long as Maya doesn’t try to get away from Brin thus causing injuries, they play together fairly well. I know most of you are wondering how Brin is doing. Well, she was completely healthy for about 2 1/2 weeks. Now, she is battling allergies BIG TIME! Her eyes are oozing, and liquid is coming out of every oriface of her face. She’s sneezing, drooling, battling a runny nose, and her eyes are very gooey. Oh, and she is coughing again. However, her spirits are up! She loves to go outside even in the midst of a fever!

I forgot to post about Maya’s 3rd birthday. It was a fairy birthday on March 31, 2008, and we had a HUGE snowstorm that day! But my mom and dad were able to make it, so Maya was pretty excited about her big day! She got to wear her fairy costume and we had a fairy dinner with a fairy menu (all fairy sized food, served on little tiny plates) and fairy cake was served! Of course she got presents: some dr. suess books, a v-tech computer (that at the moment intrigues Brin more than Maya), a new dress, dress up fairy skirts/tutus, more princess polly pocket dolls, a tinkerbell fairy coloring book, and a doll bed (which she uses, but she is STILL making beds out of anything and everything around the house)! Apparently, the doll bed is elephant’s bed, so Maya still needs to create beds everywhere else!

Fishing opener 2008: Maya’s first fish!!!!!! Makes a dad proud!
Maya went with Chris and our friend Phil for her first boat ride and first fishing trip! They went for the morning and Maya fished for 15 minutes or so catching the first fish of the day! WAY to GO, Maya! Soon after, she was done! My kind of girll. But playing with Daddy’s plastics in his tackle box (not the hooks) and discovering the worms passed the rest of the time quickly! And I guess she even laid on the boat to “sunbathe” for a couple of minutes!

Ohhh, allergies! Chip’s have started, and I feel a little bit of them. I’m glad to hear Brin is not letting them get her down.

actually, the next day was absolutely horrible. But she is also teething and tired. She is being super aggressive and Chris and I are glad we are able to tag team with her so if one has had it, the other can step in. It’s been pretty bad!

  3. librariane says:

Yeah, Chip caught a head cold, so he’s got that + allergies, too… 😉

Thanks for the GREAT pictures of your belly and the girls! You ALL look great!
